I personally dig trip hop. Mark Guiliana’s clip here is definitely worth the look see. Thoughtful speedidelic licks and groove. Clean and dirty.

Got to check out the new Blink 182 over the weekend while I was driving to a gig. Have to say I was very impressed with Travis Barker’s playing on this album. Very complexe rudimental structures within the grooves made it a great listen. I highly recommend it.

Now, I am not usually one for Russian punk music, but I will give it to these guys.

Simple exercise that is applied to a groove. Simple trick to apply to your groove bag of tricks for funk or pop grooves.

Dig this groove as has control, volume and tempo. Nice slide into Jazz from the straight ahead funk. Plus, all the great faces that real grooves make you do.

Applying a LP Jingle Stick to a ‘Nawlins’ groove makes for a nice heavy funk push. Digging this clip!

The beginning is the end is the beginning. Woody’s first public show was the very last show of the South 40 Band. I was asked to play with them recently and the band I started with a great friend, I got to bring to a close. Was the very first show for Woody and he played very well. I was a bit rusty, but enjoyed the evening. Was great seeing old friends and playing a new venue. Godspeed S40 and looking forward to more gigs on Woody.
